November 29 Yahoo GroupsI have set up a Yahoo Group for other families who have adopted from Ochakiv Ukraine.
July 23 We're Home!!!!!!!!Hi! The Camacho Family is FINALLY home!!!! I'm sorry I haven't been very good about updating our blog, it was a little harder this trip to make it to the internet cafe. We arrived home Monday morning (2:30 am) after a REALLY frustrating trip home, I'll give you the short end - 8 HOUR delay for 1st flight (making us miss our connecting flight in NY), assigned 6 seperate seats scattered throughout the plane for a 10 hour flight from Kiev, Ukraine to New York (thankfully people felt sorry for the crying mom and gave up their seats so that we were able to sit in pairs of two, landing in NY and waiting 3 hours for Delta to hand out hotel vouchers and reschedule connecting flights, only to get to the hotel to about 100 people in the lobby (the hotel had no rooms available), after two hours in the lobby we were 1 of about 5 families who ended up with a room, arriving at JFK the next day only for them to tell us that our son had missed his 8:00 am flight????? apparently the lady who rebooked our connecting flight made an error and put him on a seperate flight, the problem was our flight was sold out and he had to be put on standby (he did get on) As we are taxing out to the runway the pilot comes on the pa and tells us there are some weather problems and we will have to wait for them to reroute us (2 1/2 hours on the runway:(, then to top it off, an elderly woman had a heart attack on our flight home (She was Ok and paramedics were waiting when we landed.) I know that God must have something really incredible planned for my son here in America or satan wouldn't have been working so hard to keep us from getting home. We are all doing well (except a little jet lag and trouble adjusting to the new time zone, yesterday everyone was up at 4:00 am:) We are so grateful to be home and for all the love and support we have received. I will try to go back and journal a little bit of our last two weeks in Ukraine when I my head is a little clearer. Thank you all for your prayers!
ps - I am almost done updating all our pictures from Ukraine:
ukraineadoption.shutterfly.com July 09 Ukraine - round twoHello! I don't have much time to update today, I will try later this week. We do have Mason!!!!! We had an incredible day at the orphanage, the girls loved being there and I loved watching my girls spend time with and show love to the kids in Ochakiv that Anthony and I have grown to love. I know they will forever be changed because of their time spent here in Ukraine. I will write ALOT more details at a later date but.... Alexis and Anthony have both come down with the full blown throwing up flu so my time here is limited today. Please keep our family in your prayers and we try to finish our paperwork this week and bring our son home. I have also updated our photo website.
Our phone number is # 011380672598693 (remember we are 10 hour ahead & if you're going to call I suggest using http://www.nobelcom.com/phone-cards/calling-Ukraine-from-United-States-1-287.html) July 05 Heading for UkraineWe are heading back to Ukraine Sunday morning, actually our flight leaves out of SFO @ 3:30PM. The girls are so excited!!!!!! We will keep you updated and will post our pictures to our Shutterfly website (I can't post them on this blog from the internet cafe.) Thank you all for your continued support and prayers!!!!!!! DAS V DONYA!!!
also we don't have our Ukraine cell number yet but will post it as soon as we get it. We love to hear from home!!! If you are going to call us I recommend using:
June 29 Desires of our heartsGod knows the desires of our hearts (and so do dads.) Yesterday my dad called us early in the morning and wanted to come over and talk to Anthony & I, when he arrived at our house, he told us that he and my mom had really been praying about our return trip to Ukraine. My dad shared with us that the girls had told them how much they wished that they could go to Ukraine. With the cost of airline tickets, driving costs, & the cost of our adoption, we just couldn't afford for them to go. This has been so heavy on my heart for the past week. I want so badly for them to experience Ukraine, to see first hand where their brother came from, to visit the kids at the orphanage (that we have grown to love so much), and to be able to see "their Sasha" one last time. IT IS MY HEART'S DESIRE! Yesterday my dad offered to help us out with girls traveling fees so that they would be able to go with us. If he only knew how much I have prayed about this in the last couple of weeks:) When we told the girls they cried, they are so excited to be going to Ukraine! We are so grateful for this blessing! We will be traveling to Ukraine on July 6th and returning home ??? (it is Ukraine:) as a FAMILY. Please continue to pray for us! This will be an incredible experience for our family but will be hard to have to say goodbye to Sasha. links to our hosting and our adoption trip to Ukriane
